Puttur: Man slips into Bettampady pond - meets watery grave

Puttur, May 11: Narayana Patali (50) from Kakkur in Bettampady village in the taluk fell into a pond in his village and breathed his last. This incident happened on the night of Wednesday May 9.

Patali used to work as mason and as usual, had left for work on Wednesday morning. On that night, his family members had contacted him at 9 pm and he had told them that he would be coming back shortly thereafter. He did not reach home even at 10.45 pm and could not be contacted on phone. Therefore, the family members went in search for him. They found that Patali's body was floating in the pond located by the side of the pathway leaving to their home.

The deceased has left behind wife and two sons. A case of unnatural death stands registered in rural police station here.
