Bantwal, May 11: "The state government headed by Congress has not done justice to my family relating to the murder of my son, Sharat Madivala. Therefore, I request the voters to teach those in power a fitting lesson," said Taniyappa Madivala, father of Sharat Madivala, who was killed by unknown assailants.
Addressing a press meet at the Press Club here on Thursday on account of Sharat's birth anniversary, Taniyappa said that in memory of his son who was killed young for no fault of his, he had distributed fruits to about 70 patients being treated in Wenlock Hospital Mangaluru.
"Justice pertaining to the murder of my son has remained elusive because of anti-people policies of the state government. I suspect that Congress has joined hands with certain communal forces. Therefore, I request the people to give a fitting reply to such people so that the soul of my son rests in peace," he urged.
Madivala noted that after the death of his son, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, although he belongs to the same place as his own, did not show the minimum courtesy of visiting his family, pacifying the grieving members, and making efforts to do justice to it. He accused the police of following delaying tactics in arresting the culprit involved as a result of which the main accused could fly out of the country.
