Kasargod, Jun 16: Two people suffered injuries in a serial accident at Anangoor, in the outskirts of the city here on Friday, June 15 as a result of collision between LPG cylinder-laden lorry and car. The lorry after colliding with the car, lost control, hit an auto rickshaw and a container lorry parked in front of a car show room and toppled.

The LPG cylinder-laden lorry was on its way from Kanhangad to Mangaluru while the ill-fated car was heading to Vidyanagar from Kasargod.

Lorry driver, Puttur, Karnataka resident Raju (61) and car driver Paduvadka resident Nizaumddin (35) sustained injuries. The injuries of Nizamuddin are said to be critical. A major tragedy was averted as the cylinders in the lorry were empty.

Kasargod town police and fire brigade personnel arrived to the spot, regulated traffic and shifted the injured to the hospital.
