Bengaluru, Jun 27: An old denotification case appears to have returned to haunt current chief minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy. The Lokayukta court here has issued summons to the chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, seeking his personal presence in the court on July 5, the day on which he proposes to present the maiden budget on behalf of the coalition government.

Bangalore Development Authority had notified 3 acres 24 guntas of land in Thanisandra here by disbursing compensation in the year 2006 and allotted sites to the needy there. Under pressure from the then forest minister in the coalition government, Chennigappa, Kumaraswamy had denotified this land in favour of two persons, Sriram and Raviprakash. Mahadeva Swamy from Chamarajanagar had filed complaint with Lokayukta in 2012, accusing Chenngappa and Kumaraswamy of getting a share in the sale price of this land.

In the past, Kumaraswamy had obtained anticipatory bail and approached high court seeking to quash the complaint. The high court had refused to do so. The Lokayukta police had investigated the case and filed charge sheet in the court.
