Udupi: Standup comedy show by 'Lolbagh' receives good response in Manipal

Udupi, Jul 2: People in the district witnessed a fun filled standup comedy show of 'Lolbagh Bengaluru' on June 30 at Manipal. This is the first standup comedy event that happened in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Anup Maiyya, Lolbagh Bengaluru said "Many standup comedy shows happen in Bengaluru of English, Hindi, Tamil languages. We were the first to start standup comedy in Kannada language. It has been one and half year since we started this and are getting amazing response from all the parts of Karnataka".



"It is our first show in Manipal. In fact, in both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts,” he added.

Standup comedians of Lolbagh troupe Hampa Kumar, Sudarshan Rangaprasad, Seema Rao, Pavan Venugopal, and Karthik enthralled the audiences with their comedy cracks. Seema Rao hailing from Mangaluru left the audience in splits with her punches in Tulu.

Performers also gained attention of the audience by trying to speak in Tulu. Their impromptu comedy was filled with fun.

Ulke, a band from Manipal performed live and presented Tulu and Kannada hit songs.
