Hi Ruchir, A 'Beru' is what is commonly called a Toddy cat, it is also called a Palm Civit. The cat that was caught is a Jungle cat. Its scientific name is Felis chaus.

Really great work by the rescue team. nice coverage by the Daijiworld team. I saw the video, disgusting thing is when the cat was brought up one of them was trying to kick that cat, (at 1:02 min, in video). its not clear whether he is trying to catch hold with his leg or trying to kill it. But it looks like he is trying to kill. If so what is the use of effort put by so many people. Poor cat has to lead rest of its life in jail....

Wow nice pictures, thanks to daijiworld & thanks to Pilikula nisargadhama rescue team. Wild cat is survived but it has to be in the cage at Nisargadhama, as it used to be free before it was caught into the well. Poor cat.
