Mangaluru, Aug 21: In a unique example of humanity and brotherhood, aid was collected in cash for the flood-affected victims of Kerala in the wedding hall itself due to the initiative taken by the newlywed couple.
This Good Samaritan act occurred at the Rajangana wedding hall of Kinnigoli near here on Sunday, August 19.
Wedding of Jithesh Pakkala, a resident of Mukka and Pratima, a resident of Gurpur, took place in the said hall. As the couple was getting ready to sit on the wooden seats meant for the rituals of the wedding (Hasemane), the process of flood relief collection was initiated by them by providing some cash money. Then the box was circulated throughout the wedding hall. All the guest and well-wishers contributed as per their capacity.
A total amount of Rs 11,000 was collected in less than one hour.
