Mangaluru, Sep 4: As per the directives of the Railway Board, a trial run of a 16-coach Vande Bharat Express between Yeshwantpur and Mangaluru Central is scheduled to be held on September 5.

The primary objective of this trial run is to assess and finalise the train's timetable. According to the proposed schedule, the train will depart from Yeshwantpur at 6.05 am, travel via Hassan, Subrahmanya, and Padil, and reach Mangaluru Central at 2.25 pm. On its return journey, the train will leave Mangaluru Central at 3.00 pm and arrive at Yeshwantpur at 11 pm.

Earlier, on August 12, a trial run of the Vande Bharat Express was conducted in the challenging ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road to evaluate its technical feasibility. While the previous run primarily focused on technical aspects, the upcoming trial will strictly monitor the travel time.

The scheduled run on September 5 estimates a travel time of 8 hours and 20 minutes for the journey. The Railway Chief Controller has issued instructions to the concerned officials to focus on completing the run strictly within this specified time frame.
