Bengaluru: Nalapad attack on Vidwath - bail sought by an accused, decision pending

Bengaluru, Sep 7: Third accused in the case involving Mohammed Nalapad thrashing Vidwath, son of industrialist, Lokanath, on a silly pretext at a pub in the outskirts of the city, Krishna, has sought anticipatory bail. The high court, which heard the petition, kept the decision pending.

The single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice B A Patil, which heard arguments and counter arguments for sometime on this petititon, announced that the verdict over the application has been kept pending.

Before that, advocate for the accused argued that Krishna had not attacked Vidwath and that he had done nothing wrong in this case. He accused the police of having named him as the third accused in the case with malicious intentions. He accordingly sought granting of anticipatory bail as requested. Objecting this prayer, special public prosecutor for the state, M S Shyam Sundar, argued that Krishna had absconded after committing the crime. He said that the Supreme Court has ordered that bail should not be granted to such people. He asserted that Krishna is involved with this case and he has to face police investigation. Therefore, he insisted that Krishna should not be granted bail.
