Curtain raiser for Bengaluru’s 10th edition of India Nano 2018

Bengaluru, Sep 27: The curtain raiser event for the Decennial edition of India’s premier Nanoscience and Nanotechnology event, Bengaluru India Nano 2018 was held in the city on Thursday, September 27.

Prof C N R Rao, FRS, National Research Professor; Linus Pauling Research Professor and Honorary President, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), was the chief guest at the function.

The three-day Bengaluru India Nano 2018 will be held from December 5 to 7.

Karnataka’s Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology and Large and Medium Scale Industries and Sugar Minister K J George, Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology and Commerce and Industries, and Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, FRS, Chairman, Conference Executive Committee, Bengaluru India Nano Event and President, INSA & Honorary Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru participated in the function.

Bengaluru India Nano is one of the most sought after International nanotech events in India. It has played a catalyst to its evolution in India bringing together the best of the scientists, academia and industry on the same platform.

Prof C N R Rao unveiled the event spectrum with the focal theme, “Nano for a Better World.”

The event intends to showcase the advancements in Nanotechnology to improve the quality of life in the world around us.

The event spectrum includes Multi-Track Conference, International Exhibition, Research Industry Collaboration Hub (RICH), Nano SparX, Nano Excellence Awards, Poster – Walkway of Discovery, B2B partnering and Pre-Conference Tutorials.

Bengaluru INDIA NANO 2018 is organised by the Department of IT, BT and S&T, under the guidance of Vision Group on Nanotechnology, headed by Prof C N R Rao and Conference Executive Committee Chaired by Prof. Ajay K. Sood, FRS, Honorary Professor, IISc and President, INSA.

Speaking to media persons, Prof C N R Rao said, “Over the years, Nanotechnology has been steadily bringing about tremendous changes in the lives of people. It is nothing short of a revolution.’’

The 10th edition of Bengaluru India Nano will offer ideas and insights on the current and future applications of Nanotechnolog as distinguished academicians, scientists and technopreneurs will come together to address participants from across the world about various ways in which Nanotechnology will make a deeper impact on humanity,’’ he said.

K J George said, “The Department of IT & BT and Science & Technology is constantly at work to push Bengaluru and Karnataka to the forefront in the field of Nanotechnology. Bengaluru India Nano, since 2007, has been one of the premiere Nanoscience events in not only India but also at the international level. I wish that the Decennial event brings more insights and values to the field and thereby helps the city and state lead in national and international level.”

This year, Bengaluru India Nano has witnessed a great deal of evolution over the past decade and will be addressed by many global experts conferring knowledge on the new technologies and the latest drift in the domain.

Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology, said, “As a force binding Academia, Nanotech Research, Industry, Government, the 10th edition of Bengaluru India Nano is the result of Government of Karnataka’s effort to bring Bengaluru to the forefront in the field of Nanoscience. The event will be a platform to a multi-disciplinary approach to Nanotechnology with the theme ‘Nano for a Better World’.

Over 700 delegates from organisations across the world and over 60 speakers will be participating in the event that includes pre-conference tutorials as well as Plenary and Keynote presentations and brainstorming deliberations along with networking.

The International Exhibition at Bengaluru India Nano will offer opportunities to various industries to showcase their unique technologies, products and services. It will be an ideal platform for R&D Institutes, corporates, PSUs, startups and educational institutions.
