F-35 fighter jet suffers first crash in US

Washington, Sep 29 (IANS): The US military has suffered the first crash in its hugely expensive F-35 fighter jet programme. An F-35B crashed in South Carolina, but there was no casualty.

The crash occurred near Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort on Friday. The pilot ejected before the crash and is being evaluated for injury, according to a statement from the US Marine Corps, Xinhua news agency reported.

An investigation has been launched into the incident that marks the first crash of the fighter jet that costs more than $100 million.

It came a day after the first F-35 airstrike by the US against Taliban targets in Afghanistan, and hours after the Pentagon announced that it had awarded Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of F-35, with a new batch of F-35s, the BBC said.

The F-35 stealth jet has three variants -- F-35A, F-35B, and F-35C --designed for the US Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy respectively. The F-35B is the only model with short take-off and vertical landing abilities.

Global sales are projected at more that 3,000 aircraft, and the programme was likely to last for some 30 to 40 years.

Truth Teller, you are asking a bhakth to do calculation? By now, you should have realized that Bhakths are highly allergic to everything that has anythinging to do with reason, logic and some times common sense too! They would rather accept anything that their one and only guru Sri Fekendranath says.

What's the combination?. Who revealed to you!?. Both Indian and French governments have refused to divulge even the price of aircraft!. What ever the price is known is because of the filings of Dassault company to French government!. And remember, F-35 is a fifth generation stealth fighter! You can't compare a 4th and 5th generation aircraft!!!

First learn to speak truth. Your pappu has changed the price of Rafael more than 5 times while accusing MODI. So first decide yourself to which price you stick to

I am not going with any body else's calculations!. You should be able to do your own calculations and not depend on what Rahul or Jootlee says!. What I know is that previous price was 12 billion dollars for 126 aircraft but current price is 7.5 billion euros!. If you do a simple calculations, both are one and the same in value terms! But the number of aircraft are one third!!!!. Now take a sheet of paper and calculate!

My dear friend and my dear friends............. I don't know what's in it for you?
have any of those guys pappu, bappu, soya, moda, etc., etc., promised you anything, meaning any share of the loot? Why are we fighting each other and what are we fighting about?

We Indians have resigned to fact that our Mahan politicians will come fulfill their terms and loot all of us naked and then go away; meanwhile they build our highways supposedly with our tax money and ask us to pay tolls and they ask us to pay garbage collection tax and ask us to collect our own garbage......

Now of the 130 crore Indians how many hundreds of us if not thousands have you seen protesting on the Indian streets against government apathy and loot?

Moreover Rafael has proven a failure in many countries as well.

India cannot maintain security by verbal fights alone with Pakistan and China, while compromising on Rafael deal.
