Puttur: PAC’s Suhas bags five medals in swimming competition, creates meet record

Puttur, Oct 4: Suhas P M, a second year engineering student of Computer Science from Vivekananda Engineering College, Puttur won five medals in the VTU Inter Collegiate Swimming Competition held in Basavanagudi swimming pool, Bengaluru on Wednesday, October 3.

Suhas won a gold medal in 200 metres butterfly stroke and created a new meet record by clocking 2.18 min.

He also bagged four silver medals in 50 and 100 metres butterfly stroke, and 200 and 400 metres freestyle. Suhas is the son of Dr Mahesh Babu P and Dr Gayatri M.

Suhas has qualified to participate in the All India Inter University Swimming Championship to be held at Jain University, Bengaluru from October 26 to 30.

Suhas is a member of Puttur Aquatic Club (PAC) and is being coached by Partha Varanashi, Niroop G R, and Rohit at Balawana swimming pool and at St Aloysius College swimming pool, Mangaluru.
