Mangaluru: 'Poinnari' and 'Veez' 'Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial Literary Contest' winners announced

Mangaluru, Nov 5: E-magazines ‘Poinnari’ and ‘Veez’ who condcuted 'Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial Literary Contest’, the first ever dual script literary contest in Konkani, have announced the names of the winners.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes in three categories. The first prize will be Rs 5,000, second prize Rs 3000, and the third prize: Rs 2,000. Two encouraging prizes of Rs 1,000 each will also be awarded.

In the fourth category, first prize of Rs 3,000, second prize of Rs 2,000, and third prize Rs 1,000 will be awarded along with two encouraging prizes of Rs 500 each.

The winners are as below:

Writing Short Stories

First Place: Nayana Adarkar Goa
Second Place: Melvin J Vas Kelarai Mangaluru
Third Place: Ron Roche Cascia Mangaluru

Encouraging Prizes: Richard Alvares Mangaluru, Benny Teacher Mangaluru

Writing Poetry

First Place: R S Bhaskar Kochi Kerala
Second Place: Urjitha Bhobe Goa
Third Place: Prasann Niddodi Mumbai

Encouraging Prizes: Sunetra Jog Goa, Manoj Kamath Goa, Bammu Bhagu Fondde Karvar

First Place: Kishoo Barkur

Encouraging Prizes: Flavia Albuquerque Puttur Mangaluru, Dr Arvind Shanbaug Ankola

Writing Article

Encouraging Prizes: Prasann Niddodi Mumbai, Donald Pereira Beltangady Mangaluru

The prizes will be given during 'Konkani Literary Workshop' to be held on November 25 at 'Atma Darshana', Andheri (E).

HM Pernal Mangaluru (Editor: Kittall), Sharatchandra Shennoy Kochi Kerala (Editor: Spandana), Valley Quadras (Editor: Poinnari) were in the panel of judges.
