Karkala: YCS Zoom-2 Udupi diocesan inter-parish competitions held

Karkala, Nov 7: 'YCS Zoom-2' Udupi diocesan level inter-parish competitions were held on November 6 at St Joseph Church, Belman.

The programme began with a prayer service and thereafter the participants dispersed to their respective venues. A variety of events such as Gumta Singing contest, Bible Quiz, IAS/IPS presentation, cultural games and dance competitions were conducted. YCS members numbering around 800 from about 40 parishes and their respective
YCS unit animators took part in the programme.

The event ended with a concluding stage programme headed by Bishop Jerald Isaac Lobo. In his message, the bishop appreciated the efforts of the youth director, Fr Edwin D'Souza, the YCS council members and all those who toiled to put up this event. The programme ended with the YCS anthem.



The result of the competitions are as follows:

Gumta Singing :
I - Shirva parish
II - Byndoor parish

Bible Quiz:
I - Byndoor parish
II - Belman parish

Cultural Games:
I - Pamboor parish
II - Kuntalnagar parish

IAS/IPS Presentation:
I - Ena Robinson, Udupi parish
II - Priston C Pinto, Kalmady parish

Dance Competition:
I - Shirva parish
