Byndoor, Nov 22: BJP held protests in front of Byndoor police station against alleged police harassment and insults to Shirur zilla panchayat member Suresh Batwadi by Byndoor police inspector Thimmesh on Wednesday, November 21. The protesters urged senior police officers to take suitable action against the police inspector who insulted the elected representative.

Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said that Byndoor police inspector has acted like a puppet of Congress. “He has not taken action against crimes in police station limits. He has misused power. Therefore the senior police officials should take action against him,” he said.

Zilla panchayat member Suresh Batwadi said that he had to respond to the problems of people after being elected representative. “The police inspector shoved me and hurled expletives. What will be the fate of common people if we are treated like this?” he asked.

Kundapur DySP responding to it said that every police officer has to be strict in his jurisdiction. “I will inform about the insult to elected representative to senior officials,” he said. The protesters said that they will continue protests until suitable action is taken.

“Byndoor police inspector Thimmesh has been sent on leave from today till December 11. IGP will take up further investigations,” said Kundapur DySP.

BJP district president Mattar Rathnaker Hegde, zilla panchayat member Babu Shetty, Taluk panchayat member Pushparaj Shetty, BJP mandala president Sadananda Uppinakudru, Deepak Kumar Shetty, Balachandra Bhat, ladies morcha president Priyadarshini Beskoor, Paduvari gram panchayat president Deepa Shetty and BJP party activists were present.

I think bjp wants police to act based on their requirements. None should disturb police from doing their duties. Its shame that bjp is blaming sincere and hard working police inspector who did the right job under his power. He did not misuse his power. BJP is blaming only because they cannot do what they want. If anyone doing wrong he should be questioned let he be panchayat member or any one else. Rules applies to every one. None should misuse his position and power. BJP is misguiding public.
