Belagavi, Nov 22: Four students who went to swim in Savgaon tank here to spend Eid Milad holiday on Wednesday November 21, met watery grave.
The victims have been identified as Chaitanya Bandhurge (16) from Bhagyanagar, Sahil Yuvaraj Benake (16) from Benakanahalli, Gautam Kalghatagi (15) from Shahapur, and Amansingh Singh (14) from Ganeshpura here.
All the four were SSLC students of Good Shepherd school at Laxmi Tekdi, Ganeshpura here. They had gone to swim in the said tank in two two-wheelers. The tank is located on the border of Savgaon village with Benakanahalli. Once they got down into the tank, they could not rescue themselves on facing danger, as none of them knew how to swim, policemen stated.
