Kasargod: Even after bail, BJP leader Surendran stays behind bars

Kasargod, Nov 23: BJP leader, K Surendran who had secured bail in a case relating to violating prohibitory orders at Nilakkal after having been arrested and sent to judicial custody, was not released on Thursday November 22.

The police have booked him under another case which is connected with a protest relating to allowing women into Ayyappa shrine. BJP Kerala state secretary, K Surendran and five eaders of BJP and Hindu outfits have been named in this case.

K Surendran, BJP leader, V V Rajesh, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders, Vatsan Tillengari and R Rajesh and Yuva Morcha leader, Prakash Babu, have been booked for blocking a 52-year-old woman from entering Lord Ayyappa shrine on the special day of Chittira Atta.

Surendran was initially not released from prison as he was yet to secure bail in another case which happened at Kannur. As a new case has now been slapped on him, his release is expected to be delayed further.
