Maradona's Dorados just a step away from making Mexican first division


Culiacan (Mexico), Nov 23 (IANS): The Sinaloa Dorados, who are managed by Argentine football legend Diego Armando Maradona, beat Juarez 2-0, pulling off a key win in the first leg of the Mexican Second-Division semi-finals.

After a corner kick 12 minutes into the match on Wednesday night, the Dorados scored the first goal of the match on a header by Argentine Jesus Cordoba, who fired the ball past goalkeeper Enrique Palos.

Raul Sandoval, a Dorados defender, scored the second goal in the 26th minute with an impressive left-footed shot, reports Efe news.

In the other semi-finals series, Atletico San Luis will play the first leg against Atlante on Thursday.

Maradona's squad will play for a spot in the final on Saturday.
