Udupi, Nov 25: The central government must bring a strict law to protect Sabarimala tradition, said Vijay Kumar pro-Hindu leader Vijay Kumar here on Saturday, November 24.
He took part in a protest held by Hindu Janajagruthi Samiti and Hindu Andolana in Ajjarkad.
Addressing the protesters, he said, "There is repeated attack on Sanathana Dharma and its beliefs by atheists. There is a tradition that women above the age of 12 to 50 must not enter Sabarimala temple. But some of the people are trying to malign the religious beliefs of the devotees," he alleged adding that the Supreme Court decision to allow all women to enter the temple has hurt them.
He also said that atheists like Trupti Desai have approached court seeking entry to Shabarimala based on which the Supreme Court has given its order in favour of them which is condemnable.
He also warned of aggressive protest if Sunny Leone starrer 'Veeramahadevi' shooting was not stopped. "Porn star Sunny Leone doing a role of historical Veeramahadevi is an insult to her. She should be dropped from the movie," he said.
Hindu Janajagruthi Vedike leaders Naveen Kumar, Shrinivas, Ramesh and Vishwanath were present.
