Udupi, Nov 25: President and secretary of National Highway 66 awareness committee has asked the station officer of Kota police station of Brahmavar taluk in the district to provide them suitable protection against the atrocities conducted by the toll collecting company Navyug.

A rally was held by the committee which submitted a request to the police station officer.

The letter which is submitted to the station officer says "Our committee and the general public have been protesting since a long time against the collection of toll by the Navyug company at the Sastan - Gundmi toll collection center for commercial as well as non-commercial vehicles. But the Navyug company has not responded to our request in any manner. However, because of our protest, the Navyug company has not collected toll for the Udupi registration vehicles till now. However, the company has hatched a plan to collect the toll from the Udupi registration vehicles in the coming days. We condemn the same. In case, in the midst of our protest, if the Navyug company continues to forcefully collect toll from the vehicle of Udupi registration, then we request you to provide the vehicle owners and drivers of Udupi registration vehicles and the general public from the atrocities of Navyug company."

Most areas in karnataka toll collection exempted for local registered vehicles unofficially..From all Govt registered vehicles like "G or GA "also not collected tolls..then why for KA 19 or 20 even 21 vehicles showing step mother treatment....why no MP or MLAs speaking on issue???
