Karkala, Nov 26: In an accident involving a scooty and a car near Chatkalpade, Muniyal, Hebri on Saturday, the scooty rider lost his life on the spot.
Ramesh Shettigar (47), resident of Ellare Mavinakatte, was killed in this accident. He was returning home after dropping off his daughter, who is a student of a college at Udupi, at Muniyal bus stand, when the
accident occurred.
A car bearing Maharashtra registration number that was coming from the direction of Hebri hit the scooty of Ramesh. Ramesh Shettigar, who suffered serious injuries, was taken to Hebri hospital by locals. But
Shettigar was declared brought dead.
Those in the car escaped with minor injuries. They stand admitted into a hospital.
The scooty was badly mangled in the accident, and the front portion of the car was damaged. A case about this accident was registered in Hebri police station.
