Udupi, Nov 28: The initiation ceremony of the work related to buiding the golden roof for the sanctum of sanctorum of Lord Krishna, the project of second paryaya of seer of Palimar Math, Sri Vidhyadheeshatheertha Sripada Swamiji, was held at the Rajangana of the Math.

After the initiation ceremony, Swamiji said, "If one section of devotees seek the darshand of Lord by entering the temple, the other section of devotees stand on the road and see the Lord on the tower. The meaning of making golden cover for the tower means like making a cover for Lord Krishna. When Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain with his little finger, the cowherds feared that the mountain will fall on them and thought that they have lifted the mountain with their sticks. Similarly, we are just for name sake for the work of this tower. Lord Krishna himself will do the work and give us the benefit of the noble work. when the devotees arrive to the temple, they should not pray for the sake of exhibition, but pray with full devotion on God. When we pray to the Lord, our erratic mind will remember the valuable thing like gold. So if the gold is offered to the Lord, it is like offering our mind to him."

The supervision of the work is given to Venkatesh Shet of the Daivajna community. The wooden, silver and golden crafting work will be done by the Vishwakarma community. The golden bits were melted on the dais itself and then moulded and the same was beaten by hammer giving a symbolic initiation for the work.

The event was compered by Dr Venkatesh Acharya Korlalli. Prahlad Rao, manager of the Math, welcomed the gathering. Mohan Acharya gave the introductory speech. Vidwan Gopalacharya rendered the vote of thanks.
