Udupi, Nov 28: Social activist Steevan Colaco has been elected as the president of 'Nirantar' Udyavar. 'Nirantar' Udyavar is a cultural association and has contributed for the growth of Konkani culture.
Micheal Dsouza has been elected as secretary, Roshan Crasta as treasurer, Savitha Dsouza as vice-president, Julia Dsouza as cultural secretary, Roshan Dsouza as media coordinator; Ronald Dsouza, Anil Dsoiza, Sunil Dsouza, Olivera Quadras, Cynthia Noronha and Judith Periera have been elected as working committee members.
Steevan Colaco is a successful host and has involved himself in various associations such as Lions Club, JCI, and Udupi Helpline. Apart from it he is also involved in political activities and he is a former president of ICYM Udupi deanery.
Konkani actor Pradeep Barboza led team with several artists who are working in Dubai performed a comedy drama in association with 'Nirantar Udyavar' in Ajjarkad.
The upcoming event by 'Nirantar Udyavar' will be three-day Konkani Natakotsav from January 18 to 20 at Udyavar St Xavier church ground.
