Varamballi villagers protest demanding appointment of development officer

Udupi, Nov 29: The villagers here in Varamballi protested in front of gram panchayath demanding appointment of a development officer here on Wednesday November 29.

The villagers alleged that for the last five years, a development officer named Divya was serving efficiently in the village. "She was transferred all of a sudden with false allegations on her. Now we are facing problems to get our work done since there is no development officer in our village," they said.

The protesters also demanded the government to re-appoint her.

Panchayath members Rajesh Shetty, Christine, Hema Shettigar, Gopala Devadiga and others were present.
