Kothari makes it to last 32 in World 6 Red Snooker


Kolkata, Dec 20 (IANS): World billiards champion Sourav Kothari on Thursday secured his berth in the last-32 of the IBSF World 6 Red Snooker Championship in Marsa Alam, Egypt.

A total of 127 players were divided into 30 groups for the league stage of the Championship.

Kothari topped his group with three out of three wins in the best of seven encounters in each match against George Hanna of Egypt (4-3), Walid Mohsen of Egypt (4-0) and Alijalli Ali of Iraq (4-3)

In the first knockout round (round of 64), Kothari posted a facile 4-0 win against Abdelrahman Shahin of Egypt.

In the next round, which is the round of 32, Kothari will take on Chau Hong Man of Hong Kong.
