Mangaluru, Jan 1: The fourth additional district and sessions court here acquitted those accused of murdering V H Hamza from Valachil here. The accused in the case who were discharged, happen to be Naushad alias Passe Naushad and Altaf.

The body of Hamza was found lying on the railway tracks near Valachil railway gate on the night of January 6, 2016. A case of unnatural death was thereafter filed at the railway police station here.

The police had concluded this to be a case of death caused due to train-hit and had filed a report accordingly. At 8 pm on January 6, Hamza was sitting at a bus stand at Valachil. The accused then had smothered Hamza to death and escaped after laying his body across the railway tracks near the railway gate, the prosecution stated.

Judge of the fourth additional district and sessions court, Nerale Veerabhadrayya Bhavani, who conducted the trial in the case, came to the conclusion that the prosecution has failed to prove the charges levelled against the accused. He has accordingly exonerated the accused.
