Fiza’s Ultimatum to Chand - Return in 48 hours or Else...

TNN

Mohali, Feb 6: The romance gone and marriage on the brink, a desperate Fiza put her husband Chand Mohammad, alias Chander Mohan, the former Haryana deputy chief minister on 48-hour notice on Thursday, saying she would take a legal action against him if he did not return to her by Saturday. ‘‘Approaching police, court, women commission, Congress president Sonia Gandhi... all options are open,’’ said Fiza and her lawyer Rohit Mahajan.

Chand, 43, and Fiza, 37-year-old former additional advocate general, had converted to Islam to marry last December. However, two months on, the marriage has turned rocky, with Chand walking out of their home and stalling all attempts to return to her. Threatening to expose Chand’s alleged ‘‘misdeeds’’, Fiza, who shared the SMSs Chand sent her with the world, on Thursday brandished the ‘‘love letters’’ written to her purportedly by the Congress leader. Hitting back at Chand for saying that the SMSs to her may have been sent by someone from his mobile, Fiza quipped, ‘‘Now, he may say these love letters were written by his personal assistant.’’

‘‘Seema (Chand’s first wife) was well aware that her husband was after me and after years of being chased, I had finally give up to him when he threatened to end his life,’’ she claimed. Accusing Chand of giving ‘‘contradictory’’ statements, Fiza wondered why he was siding with his father and brother besides professing love for his first wife and children, whom he had publicly accused of maltreating him.
