Mumbai: Diamond jubilee celebrations of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha conclude

Mumbai, Mar 4: “Running an organization these days is difficult as both people and money are required. The number of donors is decreasing day by day but the organizations are increasing. It is better to spend in educational sector than for God and temples. It is commendable that more than 700 organizations are indulged in the service of Kannadigas here," said Vasudha Chemicals Private Limited president and social worker Barkur Sudhaker Shetty.

He spoke after lighting the lamp in the concluding ceremony of the diamond jubilee of Goregaon Karnataka sangha, Malad west presided over by the president of the sangha, Devalkunda Bhasker Shetty on Sunday March 3.



Ladies wing members sang the inaugural and welcome songs. Former president of the sangha, diamond jubilee committee president Mundkoor Surendra Salian welcomed the gathering and gave an introductory address. Honorary treasurer Vishalakshi Uluvara, former honorary chief secretary Meena B Kalavar, Vani Shetty, Vanitha Palan introduced the guests. Former presidents G T Acharya, Payyar Ramesh Shetty presented mementos to the guests and honoured them. Sumitra R Kunder compered the programme. Honorary chief secretary Jayaker D Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.

Artistes of Amitha Kalamandira Mira Road performed dances. Goregaon Karnataka Sangha and other organizations artistes presented a cultural programme. Suguna S Bangera compered the cultural programme.
