Mangalore: Philatelic, Numismatic Exhibition at St Aloysius Auditorium

Mangalore, Feb 11: A two-day stamps and coins exhibition is being organized at St Aloysius High School Auditorium, Kodialbail in the city on Saturday February 14 and Sunday February 15.

The exhibition is being jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada Philatelists and numismatists Association and Nehru Philatelic Club of the College.

The exhibition is being arranged to create awareness among the public and the students alike, about the history, heritage and importance of collecting and preserving stamps and coins, said M K Krishnaiah, president, Dakshina Kannada Philatelists and Numismatists Association, speaking at a press conference held here on Tuesday February 10.

Over 40 members of the Association and students of about 32 schools from around the city will take part and exhibit innumerable stamps and coins they have collected, he said. The exhibition by school children has been bifurcated into two sections, one for fifth to seventh standard students and the other, for those studying in standards eight to ten, he explained.

The exhibition is open to all the interested members of the public on Saturday February 14 from 11 am to 5 pm and Sunday February 15 from 10 am to 3.30 pm. For more information, mobile Nos 9945267161, 9901142178 and 9945155015 may be contacted, he added.
