Mumbai : Billavara Association ladies wing celebrates World Women’s Day

Mumbai, Mar 9: The ladies' wing of Billavara Association celebrated World Women’s Day at Narayanaguru auditorium, Billava Bhavan, Santacruz on Friday evening, March 8. Well known psychiatrist Dr Amoolya Nagaraj, chief guest lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.

The programme was chaired by Billavara Association Mumbai president Chandrashekar S Poojary and held under the leadership of ladies' wing president Jayanti V Ullal. Skin specialist Dr Avani Vashista Maniar, social worker, animal lover Sumitra Moodbidri and sessions court advocate Saumya C Poojary were on the dais.

Donors were felicitated on the occasion. Chandrashekar Poojary spoke on the sacrifices of women. “Difficulties and problems are normal for human beings, but when women remain joyful, the society remains healthy. Therefore, it is our duty to see women with respect,” he said.



Chitra Kotian sang a prayer song. Vice president Prabha K Bangera welcomed the gathering and introduced the felicities. Yashodha N T Poojary, Vanitha A Kukian, Sabita J Poojary and Babitha J Kotian introduced the guests. Vice president Girija Chandrasekar, Roopanjali Dhananjay Kotian, Veena Dhananjay Poojary and Kamolika Harish Ameen honored the guests. Ladies' wing honorary chief secretary Sumitra S Bangera presented the introduction and compered the programme.

Local office women and children presented dances and cultural programme. Joint secretary Jayanti S Kotian and Kusuma C Ameen compered cultural programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
