Mumbai, Mar 27: “Programmes on Yakshagana that are held here need not necessarily be held in the hometown. Yakshagana performances are held in Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and Marati here now. The enacting of ‘Pandarpur Mahima’ yakshagana play by Janapriya Yakshagana Mandali is commendable. The Mandali has been showing yakshagana plays for the last six decades,” said Kashi math Dahisar Rukhamayi temple president Mohandas Mallya.

He presided over a hall programme held jointly by Maharashtra Seva Sangha arts division and GSB Sabha Mulund on Saturday March 23.

Maharashtra Seva Sangha president Chandrashekar Vache, chief guest said that Yakshagana has strengthened the weld between Karnataka and Maharashtra.



Mulund GSB Sabha president Surendra Baliga, Kamath Caterer’s proprietor Sathish Kamath, Maharashtra Seva Sangha arts division secretary Vinod Saudagar, GSB Sabha Sion member Sachidananda Padiar and others were felicitated. Mandali honorary treasurer Yogish Dange introduced the guests. Honorary secretary Vittal Prabhu Kukkehalli compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
