Bengaluru: Citing Supreme Court order, Manippady demands snatching of usurped Wakf properties

Bengaluru, Mar 30: State BJP spokesperson, Anwar Manippady, has urged the state government to immediately act against those who have grabbed Wakf properties and take these properties back. He said that he has succeeded in a fight carried out in the Supreme Court against usurping of Wakf property worth Rs 2.30 lac crore in the state.

Manippady claimed that the six-year-long fight he carried out in the court has finally yielded fruits. "The Supreme Court outright rejected arguments of the state government relating to grabbing of Wakf properties and dismissed the appeal filed by it through an order dated March 15. At least now the government should take steps to take back these properties," he said, addressing a press meet here on Friday March 29.

Anwar said that every good citizen is a Chowkidar (watchman) and that people will not pardon people who annexed Wakf properties. Such corruption cannot be tolerated. "People of the community who have remained backward will get justice under the principle of 'Sab Ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas' preached by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Many people extended support and cooperation to my fight. The government, I hope, will act at least now to take back Wakf properties," he added.

Manippady said that people know how the Muslims were treated by the Congress and JD(S) during the last 65 years. He accused these parties of gobbling up Wakf properties worth Rs 2.30 lac crore in the name of welfare of Muslims. He said that in about 28,000 acre of the Wakf property so annexed illegally, three medical, 16 engineering colleges and various other buildings have come up.
