Proud to be chowkidar of toilets, says Modi

Wardha (Maharashtra), Apr 1 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that he was "proud" to be a "chowkidar of toilets", while taking the Congress' abuse as an "ornament".

Referring to a Congress leader's reported comments comparing him with a Chowkidar of toilets, Modi attempted to grab advantage by claiming he was "a guardian of the dignity and self-respect of millions of women" who faced huge embarrassment in the absence of toilets in their homes.

"I am proud and happy to be the custodian of the 'izzat' of crores of women who have to run out before sunrise or wait till sunset for their ablutions," Modi said here as he launched the BJP's election campaign for Maharashtra.

"By insulting me, the Congress has insulted the sanitation workers who toil since decades to keep toilets clean. It may be a laughing matter for them, but I am absolutely serious about it."

Modi said he was honoured to step on the holy soil of Wardha graced by Mahatma Gandhi, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Baba Amte and others.

Present on the occasion were Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ramdas Athawale and BJP Lok Sabha candidates from the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra.

India should build 'toilets before temples’, Narendra Modi said in a 2013 pre-election speech to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.

The issue had earlier been raised by India’s rural development minister Jairam Ramesh, who said it was a matter of national shame that 60% of the world’s population without access to a toilet is in India. But members of BJP and RSS pissed in front of his residence and left urine in bottles as a protest.

A big time lapse has happened ever since Modi took over as Prime Minister and the ground reality remains the same. Modiji had once said that those who clean toilets get spiritual pleasure from it. “I want to ask him, had he ever experienced the pleasure and cleaned the toilet?

If PM Modi can wash the feat of 'Safai Karmachari', then he can do the get spiritual pleasure.

What India needs is clean 'Toilets' not chowkidar for toilets for the nation of Incredible India from which Modi himself is a brand ambassador.

Modi Ji Modi Ji your stunt in 2014 about Chai Wala worked. In 2019 your stunts on Chowkidar will not work because Gali Gali Mey Shor Hai Chowkidar Chor Hai.

I am sure the next Govt will initiaate a JPC in the Rafale scam as well as all the scams under the BJP ruled states and your total Jhumla will get exposed.

If he was real Chowkidar of India

    1. The Indian Economy would be in much better shape
    2. Our Country “India” would not be attacked by Pakistani backed militants
    3. There would not be mob lynching, Rapes and other atrocities in the name of religion
    4. Financial defaulters would not be able to flee the country under his nose
    5. Certain people (Jay Shah) would not be able to increase their wealth exponentially within 4 years
    6. Government contracts would not be given as favors to select Individuals (Airports to Adani and Defense project to Ambani)
    7. Corrupt would be in jail (as promised in 2014)
    8. People of India would see the inflow of black money from foreign bank accounts (not just color change to Pink, Green, Orange, and other rainbow colors)

Moreover, we need a “PRIME MINISTER” to run India efficiently - a person who will focus on real development, create jobs, provide solution to farmers distress, take initiatives to improve the lives of citizens not Chaiwalas and Chowkidars who play the blame game when things are not in their favour and take credit even if they do not deserve it.

PM of our country telling like this, it will really tell us the kind of mindset he is happening. Pm of the country should have little self respect and dignity in his job and desgination.
I really wonder where our country is going to head henceforth. If like this kind of talk is coming from the pm itself.
Henceforth only job is chowkidari of toilets I guess.
So he can propgand I created alot of jobs for the youth.

Cows, Chai, chowkidhar and toilets are the things are displaying on the headlines of newspapers even abroad. Other countries are talking about development and only development, don't blame anyone either previous govt's or neighboring countries but our pm is blaming since last 5 years nehru, gandhi, congress and pakistan.

If you are talking about mallya. as per my knowlege congress made him RS memeber. and one more thing after going abroad these people didnot return back. If to prevent this we have to make rule those who took loan and on bail are not allowed to travel abroad. in this case even rahul and sonia are also not allowed to travel.

Poor chaps, those who followed and put the caps of Chowkidar's like PM Modi, now may be having a second thought.

Till now they were in social media, BJP rallies, now they have to rush to Sulabh Souchalay to do the chowkidari or else it is clear dereliction to their duties. Modi has his own chartered plane courtesy of Adani, so, he need not to worry finding one.

I had never expected PM Modijiee will lower himself to the level of, toilet chawkidar. Building toilet is good but again, hyping it for publicity is wrong, as people in the village knows, where are the toilets built for them. Now Modijee calling himself as toilet chawkidar. Modijee, keep some dignity and respect for the nation, presently, you are the PM of India.
