Mumbai: Purushottam High School Bandra celebrates golden jubilee

Mumbai, Apr 4: The golden jubilee of Purushottam High School on April 1 was observed as Founder's Day to mark the birth anniversary of late principal Lion K B Kotian, a mentor, guide and philosopher.

The programme began in full fervor amidst four generations of the Kotian family and teachers, alumni and other important dignitaries from different faculties by lighting the lamp and unveiling the portrait of the founder Lion principal K B Kotian.

The inaugural address followed by mesmerizing bhajans by the teachers rendered the air. The alumni right from 1973 till date had gathered to fill the excitement. Principal Prema Kotian announced to the alumni that the celebration will include a plethora of exciting events spread over the year, making it a memorable period in the history of the school. She also went on to say that it is an opportunity to remember, reminisce and be proud of the accomplishments. The school has been progressing and providing the best education with well equipped computer lab, science lab, besides a mini science centre and a dental clinic exclusively for the benefit of the children.



When we honour the past, we energize the future and the present becomes a celebration. So the celebration continued with the felicitation of retired teachers and other important dignitaries. To mention a few, Satish Chindarkar, founder of Anuyog Vidyalaya; Hussain Dalvayi, member of Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra representing Indian National Congress; Halim Khan, former student and municipal corporator, Shiv Sena; Suhas Adivarkar, Zilla Adhyaksha, BJP, North Mumbai; Trimbak, ex- corporator, Shiv Sena; Pundalik Sawant, Asst Vibhag Pramukh, Shiv Sena; Suman Guaiss, treasurer of Siddhi Vinayak temple; Santosh Kelkar, Chairman, Jan Kalyan Bank & Vice President of BJP were felicitated.

The school is looking forward to a mega event on November 29 by blending beautiful memories of the past and wonderful promises that are yet to be fulfilled.
