Mangalore: Entry Ban - Step Smacking of Political Vendetta - Mutalik

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Mar 17: Head of Sri Rama Sene, Pramod Mutalik, angered over the order passed by the court of the deputy commissioner, banning his entry into Dakshina Kannada district for a year said that he would take steps to keep the people informed of the real reasons behind this step that smacks of political vendetta. He also said he would move the High Court, seeking to reverse the above order.

It may be recalled that Mutalik in the past, had threatened to enter the district with 10,000 followers if he was banned from entering the district. When this was brought to the notice of V Ponnuraj, Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner, he said, the administration is ready even if he comes with a lac followers.

Mutalik said, he will launch a state-wide agitation against this order, including holding of protests and launching of agitations. "Home minister Dr V S Acharya and BJP state president Sadanand Gowda have taken this step through the    deputy commissioner to settle political scores. They purposefully saw to it that the order came out on March 16 for the fear that the Hindu Samajotsav planned for March 15 would have been adversely affected if the order was passed earlier," he fumed.

"These leaders are making use of Hindu organizations for their own interests. They made use of Mahendra Kumar's services before kicking him away. They are now targeting my organization. We will try to convince the people as to how these leaders are using the movements like Datta Peetha and building Sri Rama temple and also the Hindu organizations for their own ends," Mutalik said.

He blamed the administration for failing to act against criminals and anti-social elements who abound the district. Instead of targeting them, I have been punished on the allegation that I had delivered some speeches. "They will feel the affects of the backlash of this action in the coming election," he said.

He also stated that his outfit will not enter the fray in this election but will extend support to Swabhimani Vedike. He further claimed, several BJP leaders from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency including ex-Bajrang Dal state convener Mehandra Kumar will be joining Sri Rama Sene within a week from now.
