Shimoga: CM's Personal Assistant Suspended from Service for Violation of Poll Code

Daijiworld Media Network - Shimoga (SP)

Shimoga, Mar 17: District deputy commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey, who also happens to be the district election officer, has suspended Shadakshari, personal assistant of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, on the charges of violating the election code of conduct.

Shadakshari has been accused of arranging a luncheon for the teachers at the community hall located at Mission Compound here, a few days ago. Allegedly, state Planning commission vice-president D H Shankaramurthy, BJP Lok Sabha candidate B Y Raghavendra and ex-MP Ayanur Manjunath solicited their votes on behalf of the BJP at the programme.

The Congress filed an official complaint about this programme, alleging that this was a poll code violation. It had demanded for the immediate suspension of Shadakshari and Anavatti government college principal Eshwaramurthy who facilitated the programme, for this lapse.

The deputy commissioner had ordered for an investigation into the issue. The suspension order that came out on Monday sent shock waves through the BJP ranks.

It is an appreciable move from the District Election Officer to nip in the bud for the violent involvement of luring by the bjp party and its associates. I think in the near future Congress also may have to face similar treatment if they involve in luring voters.
