Tel Aviv: KCS Stages First-ever Konkani Drama in Israel

Tel Aviv, Apr 18: Konkan Catholic Sanghatan, Israel organized cultural programme, on account of Easter, in Hahagana Hall of Tel Aviv at 7.30 pm on Friday April 17 .

The stage programme began with Bharatnatyam by Rols Lewis. Fr Austin Peres, Nidpalli presided over the function while Fr Praveen D'Souza (Nakre) and Fr Arthuro (Tel Aviv) were the guests of honour. KCS organizer Melwyn Furtado (Bajpe), president Praveen Pereira (Taccode) and secretary Arun D'Souza (Omzoor) shared the dais with the guests.

The president of the function and the guests of honour delivered their message to the audience. The sponsors of the programme Wilson Fernandes (Fernandes & Associates) and Irene Sequeira (Badyar) were honoured on this occasion.

KCS president welcomed everyone while KCS secretary proposed vote of thanks. Jacob Fernandes (Honavar) compered the stage programme.

The cultural programme began with Dandia dance by Raja & Group, which was followed by a comedy skit called "Ondu Prema Kathe" by Jacob Fernandes & Group.

First time in the history of Israel, Konkani actors working in Israel presented the comedy social drama "Aang Bizlyar Masli Melta" under the direction of Wilfy Mascarenhas (Angelore), which is written by the famous dramatist and respectable person in Konkani literature J B D'Souza (Kulshekar). Tom (Nelyadi) and Satish (Puttur) provided music for the drama. Around 500 viewers expressed their joy towards the effort made to provide entertainment in this form.

The cultural programme was compered by Praveen Pereira (Taccode). All the members of KCS put in a lot of effort since the past two months in making the programme a grand success.
