Bantwal: Severed Electric Cable Causes Man's Death

Bantwal, May 18: A person, who unknowingly walked on the severed electric cable that had fallen across the road, was electrocuted in the morning of Sunday May 17 at Shambhur Tadike village in the taluk. The victim has been identified as Padmanabh Saphalya (45), a local man.

It is suspected, that he was walking towards the plantation located in front of his home, when he came in contact with the electric cable. Mescom sources said, the gale and heavy rain that hit the region on Saturday evening had caused the electric cable to snap.

Mescom officials said that the department will provide whatever facilities for which the family of the electrocuted person is eligible for.

Bantwal policemen have registered a case.
