Bangalore: Woman Techie held for PG Thefts

Bangalore, May 19: A woman software engineer, wanted in connection with several theft cases she committed in various paying guest (PG) accommodation centres, was arrested and stolen property valued at Rs nine lakh was seized from her.

Devi Mahalakshmi, hailing from Tamil Nadu's Tiruppur district, used to gain admission in women PG accommodation centres and stole the valuables, including cash, credit/debit cards and laptops of the inmates, police said on Monday.

She also withdrew money using these cards and purchased jewellery, police said.

Police said 28 theft cases were pending against her in various police stations in the city.
