Bangalore: Indications of Renewed 'Operation Kamala' Creates Jitters in JD (S)

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, May 22: Reportedly, state JD (S) president, former chief minister and newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) H D Kumaraswami is in a quandary. He is caught between the devil and the sea.

On one hand, he aspires to become a union minister. He hopes, by this move, he would be able to have a say in the state affairs and thereby strengthen the JD (S) in the state. Being a MP also helps, as he will have regular contact with union ministers and corridors of power.  He also hopes to manipulate matters to weaken the state BJP and precipitate the fall of the BJP government in the state in course of time.

The BJP has got wind of his plans. Reliable sources say, the BJP has wooed seven disgruntled MLAs of the beleaguered party from north Karnataka and Mysore regions. These MLAs it is learnt, have agreed to cross over to the BJP in its resumed 'Operation Kamala' operation, if Kumaraswami opts to go to New Delhi. The BJP has hatched this plan, to affectively counter Kumaraswami’s proposed move to destabilize the state government.

People of the state are curiously watching further moves of the former chief minister, in this backdrop.
