Udupi, Aug 10: A programme to explain the importance of breastfeeding was held for parents at SDM Ayurvedic Hospital, Katpadi as part of breastfeeding week on August 3.
Dr Mamatha K V of the hospital chaired the programme. Assistant professor of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, chief guest explained in detail importance of breastfeeding. Dr Prathviraj Puranik, head of the department of pediatrics was present as chief secretary of the programme.
Third year postgraduate student Dr Kavya compered the programme. Second year student Dr Ashwathi sang a prayer. Dr Prathwiraj Puranik welcomed. Dr Mamatha K V gave presidential address. Dr Nagarathna rendered the vote of thanks. Dr Sharaschandra R and Dr Raj cooperated.
