Mangaluru, Aug 10: Celebrating the feast of St. Lawrence, the patron saint of the deacons, the solemn vespers was solemnly prayed on the eve of Friday, August 9 at St Joseph's seminary, with the deacons animating the liturgical service.
The celebration came to its summit with the Festive Mass celebrated today. The Mass was presided over by Fr Ronald Serrao, the rector and the Human Formation director of the deacons. New priests, Fr Jacob Inturi and Fr Sunith concelebrated the Mass. Deacon Arun Sundar, delivered a thought-provoking and inspirational sermon based on the life of the Holy Deacon, St Lawrence.
The cherubic and devout choir of the deacons made the ceremony exceptional and winsome. The celebrations culminated with a small felicitation ceremony after Mass. The deacons joyfully manifested their zest, zeal and solidarity towards their patron saint.
