Beltangady, Aug 11: The police of the town have arrested a man for sexually harassing a minor, who was his stepdaughter.
The accused is father of two children. He had deserted his wife and was living with a divorced woman. It is said that the man used to behave in an indecent manner with the minor girl, who is the daughter of the divorced lady from her first husband. On Wednesday, August 7, as there was holidays for schools and colleges, the accused enticed the girl to come to market with him. While returning from the market, he took her to a deserted place on a hillock and assaulted her sexually.
The minor girl informed the matter to her mother, who later filed a complaint with the police. The police, who acted swiftly, arrested the culprit.
