Karwar: Accident - ABVP leader involved with relief work among three dead

Karwar, Aug 12: A car and a pick-up truck collided with each other near Yallapur in the district on Sunday August 10. Three persons including an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader were killed in the accident, while two more suffered injuries.

The deceased happen to be Mahabaleshwara Ganesh Hegde (55) from Soorimane, Bhyrumbe in the district, wife Sharada Mahabaleshwar Hegde (50), and ABVP leader from Laxmipura, Mysuru, identified as Ravikumar Tipperudrappa (35). Mahadeva and Shekhar Mysuru were injured in this accident.

Ravikumar along with his two friends had visited the relief centre for flood-affected persons at Kirwatti near Yallapur for delivering relief materials. They were returning to Mysuru when the accident occurred. Both the vehicles turned turtle. The couple travelling by car and Ravikumar, who was seated in the pick-up truck died on the spot. The injured are being treated in a hospital.
