Mangalore: Road Accidents Claim Two More Lives

Mangalore, Jul 15: In an accident involving an ore truck coming towards the city and a tempo vehicle carrying parcels to Mysore at Kempuhole on Shiradi Ghat stretch of the road on national highway 48 on Tuesday, July 14, the tempo driver died on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Zacharia (27), a resident of Shantibettu near Nellyadi. Tempo cleaner Ismail (22), also from Shantibettu, is being treated in a private hospital in Nellyadi. A case has been registered in Sakleshpur rural police station in this regard.

In another incident that occurred at Baleguli Cross in Ankola, a motor bike driver was killed after a tanker hit him. Vinayak J Kudarkar (32) died on the spot. Pillion rider Umesh J Ambiga was admitted into Manipal hospital with serious injuries.

Tanker driver Ismail Dastagir Sab fled from the scene. Ankola policemen have confiscated the tanker.
