Mangalore,Jul 22: All India Confederation of  Bank Officers Organizations has decided to strike work on August 6 and 7, to press for their pending demands. Their demands include revision of pay of bank officers and employees, doing away with the process of mergers and acquisitions of banks, filling up of vacancies and putting an end to the practice of outsourcing bank work.

General secretary of the bank officers' body G D Nadaf stated in a press conference held here on Tuesday July 21, that over eight lac bank officers and employees all over the country will take part in the strike. Even though the IBA, under pressure from the union government, had agreed for a pay hike of 17.5% earlier, it has now said the enhancement should be limited to 15%, he explained.

The Confederation is opposed to the practice of outsourcing bank jobs and appointing officers on contract basis. It has demanded for confirming of the services of officers who have been hired on contract basis, he stated.

Corporation Bank Officers Organization president T R Bhat, leaders Kaushik Ghosh, D N Prakash, All India Conferation of Bank Officers district office bearers Satyanarayan and Lakshmikant were present at the press conference.
