Kasargod, Aug 2: Kochi police control room received a threat through telephone on Friday July 31 at 8 pm that a bomb has been placed on Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Malabar Express, which however on investigation turned out to be hoax.

An unidentified caller informed Kochi police control room that a bomb will explode when the train reaches Aluva around midnight. This prompted a thorough checking of all the railway stations beginning from Kollam by the police which ruled out any possibility of bomb threat.

The investigation by the police has revealed that the call was made from a coin box situated at Jyoti Junction on P P Road in Perumbavoor. A youth has been interrogated on the matter.
