Kundapur: G M Sheriff Hoode New President of Udupi Muslim Writers’ Association

Kundapur, Aug 2:
G M Sheriff Hoode was elected president of the Udupi Muslim Writers’ Association during the general body meeting held recently at Udupi Welfare Society, near here. 



The meeting was chaired by Mangalore Muslim Writers’ Association president Saeed Ismail.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Ismail said that Muslim writers should come forward to eradicate the social evils affecting the community. He added that they should make the best use of their writing skills in order to promote peace and harmony among the various sections of the community.
 
Hoode is a poet and translator besides being the editor of Kannada monthly ‘Divyaprbha’.
 
Other office-bearers of the association are Mohammed Marakada (vice-president), K S Abdul Karkaz (chief secretary), Asadulla Katpady (secretary), K M Sheriff Malpe (treasurer), U Anwar Asamad Uppinakote and Hussein Kodibengre (committee members).

    The importance of ''qalam''is well known.It is said that ''Pen" is mightier than sword. Unfortunately,we doesn''t seems to have given any importance to this. Last year I had the chance of reading one or 2 issues of ''Diyyaprabha''.Good editorial... We hope & pray Mr.Sherief Hoode will identify more & more people & groom their writing skill.God Bless You.
