Udupi: Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji 80 – Minister Limbavali, Acharya among Well-wishers

Udupi, Aug 27: Addressing the audience at a function organized by the fans and well-wishers of Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji of Admar Mutt, to honour him on completion of 80 years of age, at the Poornaprajna Auditorium here on Wednesday August 26, higher education minister Aravind Limbavali said that it is impossible stop Sanskrit University from becoming a reality in the state. He said, the government is open to any debate on the issue and opined that only a few leftists are opposing this move.

Limbavali added, the government had reacted positively when Siddaramaiah challenged it to be prepared for a discussion in the legislature on the issue of setting up Sanskrit University. But Siddaramaiah did not raise this topic in the house, Limbavali aded. Recalling the functioning of the 26 educational institutions set up by Admar Mutt Education Board headed by Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji in the name of 'Poorprajna', he said, the aim of the government can get fructified if all the educational institutions are run on the lines of these institutions.

Felicitation Committee working president, home minister Dr V S Acharya offered a citation to the Swamiji and recollected the contribution of the Swamiji to various sectors. On behalf of the local municipality, municipal president Dinkar Shetty honoured the Swamiji. MLA Raghupati Bhat also paid his respects to Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji.

Junior Swamiji of Admar Mutt, Sri Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji, said that his senior Swamiji has always kept the welfare of the world before his own and wished that Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji will enjoy good health and long life. Paryaya Puttige Mutt Swamiji Sri Sugunendrateertha released a book brought out in honour of Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji, on the occasion. As this happened to be the 'Janma Nakshatra' day of Sugunendra Swamiji, Sri Vibhudeshateertha Swamiji honoured him.

In his address, Bannanje Govindacharya reminisced the service rendered by Vibhudeshateertha Swamij to the dalits and the eye to detail he always has. MLCs Capt Ganesh Karnik and Kota Srinivas Poojary, Karnataka Bank non-executive chairman Anantakrishna etc., extended their best wishes to the Swamiji.

On this occasion, Manipal Hospital doctor A Raja, who has been treating the Swamiji, and Poornaprajna College governing council secretary Dr G S Chandrashekhar were felicitated.
