Pictures: Relatives Attend Wedding Reception of Narayan Murthy's Daughter


Bangalore, Aug 30 (PTI): Relatives and friends congregated at a prominent city hotel today to attend the wedding reception of Infosys chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy's daughter, who entered into wedlock with her classmate from Stanford Business School.

The 29-year-old Akshata Murthy yesterday married to Rishi Sumak, an Indian based in the US.



The reception at the Leela Palace was attended by relatives and family friends.

Prominent personalities who attended the reception included Azim Premji, Chairman of Infosys' rival Wipro, Chairperson of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Cricketer Anil Kumble and Nandan M Nilekani, who heads the Unique Identification Authority of India.

Yesterday, the family conducted the "Devara Samaradhane" ceremony at a marriage hall in Jayanagar area, seeking divine blessings for the couple.

Akshata, who did her MBA at Stanford Business School, is currently employed with Tendris, a Dutch cleantech Incubator Fund, as its marketing director.
